halloween chex mix

Here’s something you and I can make for the upcoming Halloween party that you’re going to or will be hosting. I tell you my nieces, nephews & little cousins are so into this, so they’re expecting me to bring over the ingredients so they can help me. It’s very simple and fun to do especially when there are tons of dwarf helpers. 🙂

What you need:

4 1/2 cups Corn Chex cereal
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (3 oz)
1/4 cup peanut butter
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1 cup candy corn
1 cup salted cocktail peanuts
cupcake wraps

In large bowl, measure cereal; set aside.
In 1-quart microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter uncovered on High 30 seconds; stir. Microwave about 15 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into 1-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag.
Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Add candy corn and peanuts; shake to mix. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container in refrigerator. And whenever ready serve them on cupcake wraps.

  1. This looks so yummy, Prem, and I was actually looking for something to send to me son for a little Halloween treat. This will be perfect. Thank you so much for sharing!
