gravedigger

In the spirit of  Halloween, I’d like to post this old photo taken from one of those L.A. county fair visits. And so I’m a grave digger tonight, working on a graveyard shift. This is one of the times when I’m most needed at work, when parents of younger kids want to take a night off to be able to bring them trick-or-treating. Well, I understand.

Today’s coffee: coffee jelly tea from 85°C café, well there’s still coffee in it.

Photo taken using the hipstamatic app, foodie pak – loftus lens, tasty pop flash & DC film.

Keep safe kids and everyone!

  1. Bwahahaha 50c to have a grave dug! I smell something fishy. 85 degree C, that’s the name of the coffee place? Clever!

    • sorry, forgot to reply to this comment… well, when you’re around Hacienda Heights, you should try to visit the cafe, they got lots of pastries (delicious) 😀 it’s close to Hsi Lai, just along Azusa Ave.

    • Yeah, this kind of tea is very uncommon… it’s usually available in Asian tea houses. You can try it if you see any local stores there.

  4. Hope you had a fun Halloween! I was just in the US and was amazed at how into it everyone is. It had been 13 years since I was there during this time of year.

    • Yes, it’s a big deal here… I’m not really into it and I didn’t even notice that a lot of establishments were putting so much effort in decorating their walls/ceilings and all, not until my daughter pointed them out to me. 🙂

Which part of the US you visited this time?

      • I was in Michigan, where I’m originally from. I went to a haunted house when I was there. It was called the Village of the Living Dead…it was really funny. Halloween is still my favorite holiday, but you need to have grown up with it, I think, to really appreciate it.

  5. That’s quite a deal of a price for having a grave dug! 😉
I’m curious about “coffee jelly tea.” What is it? I’ve not heard of it around here.

    • you bet, a bit pricey.

Coffee jelly tea is a milk tea based with coffee flavored jelly cut into cubes, ahhh they are really good and it’s one of my favorite substitutes when I want to go easy on coffee ‘coz this way I still get the coffee taste even in a subtle way. You can find the agar mix in Asian stores, if you wanna try it, I can send you one if you aren’t able to find it there in your stores. They are also mostly available in Asian tea houses/cafe.

      • Thanks for explaining it. I will look in our grocery store’s Asian aisle next time I am there. It sounds like a great alternative!
