vincent thomas bridge

This is the Vincent Thomas bridge crossing the Los Angeles Harbor, linking San Pedro and the Terminal Island where cruise ships dock. It is said to be the 4th longest suspension bridge in California.

Very cool to drive over this bridge. The port is fascinating especially when you are just a passenger, you can see all over the ports and with the big cruise ships on the other side…

It would be great at night I guess, that we should try if we can. Just be careful of the semi-trucks and the cops on the other side handing out tickets to those speeding.

And for coffee…

I love a quiet Sunday morning especially with coffee and while I read The Secret Life of Asana on Yoga Journal.

I wish you all a happy Sunday!

  1. I bet that would look beautiful at night. If that’s where the cruise ships depart from, we must have been there because we took a cruise in 1992, that left from L.A. Our time in L.A. was brief – LAX to ship, no other stops.

    • I think this is the only bridge that will bring you to San Pedro port where the cruise ships dock. Time to re-visit L.A. then Lindy. 🙂

  2. Interesting! Loved the first shot – I’m a sucker for reflections and boats, while the second looks very industrial – what are those plastic-looking boxes on the right side?

    • I am guessing, they are cargoes/containers. The port of San Pedro and Long Beach are so close to each other and it is where cargoes leave and arrive. It’s the port of entry for all things in SoCal. 🙂

  3. We loved visiting San Pedro — it’s been a very long time though, I’m sure it’s much bigger and busier now.

And quiet Sunday mornings are my favorite time of all.!
