Recent Incoming Mails

Hello, my dear friends! Today, I am gonna show you my recent incoming mails. I am so glad that they still keep coming even if I am not that very active on Instagram anymore. And I really appreciate it that they still remember me, I guess that’s how friends should be. I got four beautiful mail in the past week. And it would be shame if I didn’t blog about them. First to come is from Atikah in Malaysia. We’ve been friends for four and half years now, she’s one of the original pals ever since snail mail became popular on IG in 2013. We’ve sent to each other randomly until it became a regular correspondence. She always sends me pretty and unique paper stuffs. I’ve always treasured the goodies she’s been sending me because I can always feel the sincerity and the friendship in them. Now, look at that pretty paper napkin on the first photo. And oh my! those washi samplers? they’re just so adorable, very unique and not so accessible here in …

National Card and Letter Writing Month

Did you know that April is… yes, card and letter writing month? cool, right? And this is the first time I’m joining in because I thought it would be the best time to get caught up with reply mails, get in touch with family, long time friends, and enemies perhaps? 😀 So, here is a peek at what I’ve sent so far. First on my list is for an aunt who turned 84 yo on the 31st of March but I forgot to send a card on time, as the saying goes… it’s better late than nothing at all. And of course, postcards for myself, immediate families, and for my best cousin. Moving on to reply mails for penpals.   I also got this pretty parcel from the official Write_On campaign site. They are still sending letter writing kits to those interested. So, go on ahead and grab one out for yourself if you want to hop in. It’s not too late. If you are a bit lost on what to write, here are a …

Pretty Snail Mails From The Past Months

Hello lovely friends! It’s been a while since I posted incoming pretty mails. So today, I want to share and show you all the mails that I’ve received over the past few months. The newest mail is from my sweet little friend in Malaysia, XinNing. Look at the details on this pretty pink envelope. I truly love the gold wax seal with the Chinese characters. Enclosed were these beautifully made mini envelopes and cute flake stickers. I am also in love with the stamps that she’s put on. From THE NETHERLANDS: I also received a surprise mail from a long time IG and pen friend, Margit. She knows that I love Buddha cards/postcards and this one certainly made me happy. And what a wonderful set of stamps… From INDIA: One of the surprise mails was from Tripthi. I love all the details on the cards, postcards, and the envelope. The stamps that she’s put on are also full of details. This handmade card is from a long time post-crossing friend, Madhura. I am so attracted to the simple and abstract …

Tutorial: Vintage Themed Mail Art

Hello everyone! I’ve been asked many times if I have a you tube channel or blog for tutorials on my mail art and art journals. Sadly, I am not good at making videos… yet. I hope this tutorial will help those who want to start on mail art. Let me know what you think or if you have any questions by leaving a short comment below. Thanks! First, gather the materials that you will need. Envelope/s Scrap papers (best if they look vintage) Old book pages Washi tapes Glue and applicator (optional) Old/used plastic card Paper underliner (I use wax paper) 1. Start by choosing what type of envelope you want to use. For vintage themed, it is best to use Kraft ones as they look more vintage than plain whites. 2. Look for scraps of paper. Here, I chose brown colored and torn pages from a Trader Joe’s catalog, old book paper, floral gift wraps, cream print paper from my stash tray. 3. Choose washi tapes that will fit the theme. I used tapes …

Incoming and outgoing mails for the month of August

Speaking of snail mail, August was a good month for me. I got many beautiful mails from all over the world. INCOMING And some others which I failed to post individually on Instagram —  on center is of a Korean painted houses, from my very best friend in Taiwan who went for a summer vacation in South Korea; the elephant card from Yiyi from France who went for a short trip in Thailand; and the map card when Shelley (who now lives in Australia), went home to visit her folks in UK. I am always thankful for friends who think of sending me postcards when they travel. Well, that’s what I usually do too. 🙂 OUTGOING Green mails because I wanted to take a break from the muted colors that I have made the past weeks. I wanted to try making this kind of mail because she loves kawaii themed stuffs. I hope this was kawaii enough for her. 🙂 Finally, I was able to send her a promised mail art. She’s one of the few …

Outgoing mails for the month of July

I never realized until now that I had a few incoming mail last July or did I just fail to keep count and organized? Nevertheless, here is a couple of mails that I managed to send. I love making vintage themed brown mails. On top is a plain brown (kraft) envelope that I purchased years ago at Michaels  and the other mail is a medium brown grocery bag that I bought at a dollar store.  I chose word stamps by Tim Holtz and stamped randomly on it using archival distressed ink stamps, also by Tim Holtz (I am huge fan, you can tell).  Added some washi tapes for contrast and for a more vintage look. I then glued on a scrap of paper for the addresses and added some matching stamps. For the larger mail (grocery bag), I machine stitched the sides to give it a more appealing look. These are just a small part of what I sent to two friends, one in Florida and the other in the Philippines. I made this folded Japanese paper …

Incoming and Outgoing Mails for the Month of May

INCOMING This month, I got a handful of beautiful incoming mails, both from old and new friends. I am just so thankful for all the friendships that I’ve built over the years. And without further ado, here I post photos of them. I love it when long time postcrossing friends surprise me with postcards. It means a lot to know that they think of me. 🙂 How sweet, isn’t it? Talk about pen pals who reply to me as quick as the thunder, it’s them — Sara and Patty. Weren’t it just a few days ago when I only sent them mails? I haven’t even finished my long mail list and there they go to the list again. 🙂 I am just so happy that I have them as pen pals. I call this mail a random act of kindness from a new IG friend in Florida. I praised her for doing a great job on this handmade card and there she was in my messages asking for my mailing address so she can send it to …
